Interior Design’s Best of Year is the design industry’s premiere design awards program, honoring the most significant work of the year as well as recognizing designers, architects, and manufacturers from around the globe.
Rooted in the primitive tradition of lunar adoration, Selene embodies a relaxed luxury, combining contemporary and timeless design. Inspired by the silhouettes of the phases of the moon, the chair’s design invites you to immerse in moments of serenity. Its crescent-shaped backrest, upholstered in boucle, sits on the comfortable full moon seat (upholstered in the same fabric) creating a cozy, warm environment. The sculptural back is made of a wooden spine, seamlessly connecting the seat and backrest, adorned with an intricate woven raffia pattern that pays homage to handcrafted traditions. An eye-catching tassel detail hangs from the back of the chair. To compliment the chair we have designed a crescent-moon shaped ottoman that can be added for additional comfort. Selene also has a swivel function, allowing you to fully relax in the piece.
